Not every trauma response looks the same.
For some, fawning - which is laughing it off, or going along with something uncomfortable to keep the peace - can be shaped by cultural, religious or family expectations, and influence how we react in stressful situations.
Knowing this helps us understand the different ways people respond to harm, and that fawning is a survival response - not consent.
